You’ve probably watched the movie “A Beautiful Mind,” where Russell Crowe plays John Nash, the famous mathematician and the biggest contributor to Game Theory: one of the most important skills if you want to be successful.
But, what is it exactly and how can you master it?
“Game theory means rigorous strategic thinking. It’s the art of anticipating your opponent’s next moves, knowing full well that your rival is trying to do the same thing to you. Though parts of game theory involve simple common sense, much is counterintuitive, and it can only be mastered by developing a new way of seeing the world. “
Stanford University along with the University of British Columbia, put together an introductory course that covers everything from basic terms to Nash Equilibrium to more advanced games. If you are already familiar with the topic, there’s an advanced course as well.
Also, there is an amazing book about this, “The Art of Strategy” is a more acute approach to business strategy and life using game theory. A solid addition to your library.
