If you are into the influencer world, you probably already follow Alex Hawkers on Instagram. If you don’t, you are definitely missing out on one of the greatest growth hacker minds out there.

Alex co-founded Hawkers (sunglasses company) in 2015 where he acted as CEO.

Under his leadership, Hawkers grew from $360 to $120 million in revenue in just 3 years, signed partnership deals with LA Lakers (first Spanish company to sponsor an NBA team) and Leo Messi among others. They also received several awards like “Paypal’s Success Story” and “Ford Innovation Award”.He was on the cover of Forbes Magazine too.

After all of this tremendous success, Alex sold all of his Hawkers stock in early 2018 for an undisclosed amount and stopped being CEO. Why? As he puts it:

“I wanted to sell. Some friends ask me: How is it possible that you have a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari and a Maserati? (note: actually he owns quite a few more) and I answered: I have sold in the perfect time. I don’t have to worry about work for the rest of my life.”

We all knew his love of cars and exclusive watches, and also the mega-mansion he owns in one of the best zip codes in Los Angeles. Just a few months ago, I started seeing that he just purchased a new yacht: a Tecnomar Velvet 36 (north of $4 million).

He completely turned it around, enjoyed a few days on it and put it available for rent for a cool $152,000 a week (plus expenses). A sure way to make a million every summer. Well played, Alex (we’d love an invitation!)
